The Year Round Outdoor Musical Workout
The Broadway Fitness Workout You’ve Been Waiting For
To counter the past three years of social isolation, we continue to create weekly opportunities to come together, make new friends, connect and have FUN.
Think Strength 💪🏽,
Cognitive Training 🧠,
Movement to Music 🎭
We strive to offer an AGELESS, low-impact, strength-building, communal fitness experience that’s unabashedly, unapologetically FUN. Research shows focusing on exercise that makes people happy, rather than focusing their on exercise intensity, may be key to maintaining motivation for physical activity.
Every decade of life requires different physical and cognitive training. In terms of movement and skills training, a one-size-fits-all approach is not prudent.
Embracing the Cognitive. The best exercise prescription is the one you can and hear to regularly and genuinely enjoy performing. The rewards should linger long after the workouts over.
No body shame. No gymtimidation.
Leave the false fitness narratives of perfectionism behind.

Summer 2024 Hunter's Point Park
Strength & shO Tunes, the land equivalent of its namesake water aerobics class, launched April 15, 2020 at NYC's Central Park. This "shO-cially distanced" community-based workout was created as result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2015, I sought to reinvigorate my water aerobics class by reimagining exercise through the lens of a Broadway show using a multimodal approach. Next I elevated these elements to make the class feel like a performance rather than a routine workout.
Early 2020, the shO was building momentum. (It was, and still is, the only instructor-owned aquatic fitness program on the schedule of the luxury fitness brand Equinox.) Then came Covid-19. The world went on PAUSE due to this airborne virus, public gatherings were deemed unsafe, health clubs closed.
Sitting in my NYC apartment, I questioned how could I bring light into the world. As everyone took to Zoom, I took to the park to create a safe healthy space where we could still play. Then began the journey.
By popular demand, there is also an online streaming exercise classed named H2shO™️ LIVE! or shO LIVE, on the BAND app for communities and groups.
We have hosted student events for the Student Affairs Office of Fordham University and have been contracted by the Hunters Point Park Conservancy to perform our signature workouts on the waterfront in the Summer months.
